Quite a few users have been complaining lately that their favorite Candy Crush game version has stopped working. They have downloaded the game, installed it, played a few levels and now the app is not responding.
We’ll see what possible solutions there are to solve this issue (three solutions for PCs, one for mobile devices).
1.Uninstall all series of Candy Crush you may have installed on your device and install the Jelly Saga version only
If you have more versions of the game installed on your device, account synchronization issues might occur. In this case, the best solution is to uninstall all the versions so that your device can operate with a single account.
Of course, the disadvantage of this method is that you will delete all playing history and scores.
2. Run the app troubleshooter
The troubleshooter is sometimes very useful in detecting the cause of the issue. However, it does not work all the time – hence the use of that “sometimes”. I have used the troubleshooter for another game downloaded from the Windows Store and the most annoying thing was the end message telling me there was no issue detected. Obviously there was an issue since I could not run the app properly.
Give it a try and see if this works for you.
3. Create a new Windows profile as an administrator.
To create a new Windows profile, you can check Microsoft’s Assistance Page.
However, apparently you cannot start at the level you were at when the game stopped responding, as one user confirms on Microsoft’s forum:
The new user can download the Candy Crush Jelly Saga ok but it runs as a completely new installation from the beginning with no playing history. I wanted to restore the game and re-start at the level the user was at when it stopped working. It now seems that it is not possible to do that so we will give up.
4. Log to Candy Crush Saga from another device and uninstall Facebook from the device the game has stopped working on (for mobile devices)
To put it in a simpler manner, let’s say you play the game using your smartphone. Log to Candy Crush Saga from your laptop to save your game history and play a couple of levels. Uninstall Facebook from your smartphone and install it back on your phone. Connect to Facebook before you start playing the game again on your smartphone.
