Sims 3 is a really cool game, but it seems that it is creating a lot of problems for certain Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 users. Problems have surfaced previously when Windows 8 and subsequently Windows 8.1 were introduced, but it’s weird to see this kind of issues appear after such a long while.
Here’s what a Sims 3 player, owner of Windows 8, has been saying:
After updating to version 1.67, I always get the message : The sims 3 has stopped working, after playing for 5 minutes and then it crashes to the desktop!!! This is getting really annoying and I cant even play it anymore. Im really upset about this and I hope you have any solution for this. And for the dxdiag thing, I met all the requirements for downloading the sims 3 and it is a windows 8 by the way. Really hoping you can answer me about this.
There’s a simple solution that has been suggested by somebody on the forums:
Try upgrading your machine to 8.1. That fixes a lot of core Windows problems and what nots. Don’t think you’ll need to re-install the Sims3 afterwards but if the problem persists then do that next.
So, if you’ll upgrade to the latest Windows 8.1 version and you’ll still have issues, then I suggest you to make a check of your video card settings, maybe there’s something wrong there. If even this isn’t a problem, then leave your comment below and we’ll try to look into the problem together.
