I don’t know about you, but I’ve been a huge Grand Theft Auto fan ever since the first version was released. Many know GTA from its most recent times, but I’ve been playing all of its version and I can say that I have enjoyed them all.
Today, while I was going through some posting on the SteamCommunity, I’ve come across some rather angry users who were claiming that a recent update was causing the GTA 5 launcher to stop working. Here’s what one of them has been saying with regards to this matter:
Since the recent update I am complexly unable to run GTA V. When I start the game I get as far as the first Social Club window that pops up for a second before an error message pops up saying: “Grand Theft Auto V Laucher has stopped working” I’ve tried everything sensical I could find on this but most of the ‘fixes’ were for older issues that I now assume are unrelated to the issue I’m having. It all worked fine up until the last update so obviously whatever that update did messed up my game. I’ve started to see more people have this issue so how about we try to figure this crap out?
At the moment there isn’t an official fix released by Rockstar, but many suggest that this problem could be linked to a fix offered by the company on this problem which also talks about Social Club issues. Here’s what another player has been saying:
After the last update it seems that each time I started the game on Steam it just crashes when it tries to go on the Social Club. I reinstalled the game once, validated the files twice.. have looked around the internet but I only find 2 month old posts with nothing helpful. I’ve already submitted a ticket but have gotten no answer.
The problem is already in Rockstar’s hands, as apparently this has been reported by quite a few users. We will update this post once we have more information. Until then, if you are aware of a certain fix, do leave your comment and let us know of it.
